[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has produced and released on the 6th a music video titled 'Handwashing Song, WASH' to encourage the habit of washing hands with soap for more than 30 seconds to prevent infectious diseases.
The newly produced song is designed to be easy to sing along with and features a lively rhythm tailored to the perspective of children and students, according to the Gyeonggi Office of Education.
The audio and video feature direct participation from Gyeonggi Office of Education ambassadors Lee Hyun-ji (rapper and YouTuber 'Dalji') and Jang Rae-won (rapper, contestant on Show Me The Money 8).
The Gyeonggi Office of Education plans to encourage students to join a handwashing video challenge using the song and music video in the future. The song will also be actively used in COVID-19 prevention campaigns through radio and other media.
Kim Ju-young, spokesperson for the Gyeonggi Office of Education, stated, "The importance of handwashing education has increased due to the unexpected spread of infectious diseases such as SARS, H1N1, MERS, and COVID-19. We expect that a handwashing song that anyone can easily and enjoyably follow will help prevent infectious diseases."
