Candidate Jang Byung-wan Proposes Three Key Principles for Economic Measures to Overcome the COVID-19 Crisis

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jang Byeong-wan, candidate for the National Assembly from Dongnamgap, Gwangju Metropolitan City, presented three major principles for economic measures to overcome the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 on the 5th.

Candidate Jang Byeong-wan stated, “We must break away from rigid thinking and promote flexible and multidimensional policies,” and pointed out, “The COVID-19 economic measures promoted by the government are insufficient to block the anticipated economic crisis tsunami.”

As economic measures due to COVID-19, he proposed ▲ nationwide expansion of disaster relief payments ▲ extension of loan deadlines for emergency support funds for small business owners and reduction of public utility charges and extension of payment deadlines ▲ expansion of support for national key industries.

He said, “Since an economic cold wave tsunami surpassing the IMF or financial crisis is approaching, the government must create meticulous and detailed economic crisis countermeasures from individual citizens to small business owners, micro self-employed, and national key industries,” and promised, “With my experience and expertise as a former Minister of Planning and Budget, I will serve as a strong breakwater to protect the economy of Gwangju and Nam-gu from the economic cold wave tsunami.”
