[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The 18th confirmed case of COVID-19 among American workers in the US Forces Korea has been reported.

On the 4th, the US Forces Korea Command stated, "A positive COVID-19 case was confirmed today at Osan Air Base," adding, "Epidemiological investigations and disinfection are underway." The confirmed American worker was last at Osan Air Base on the 1st.

COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the US Forces Korea for four consecutive days. The previous day, positive cases were reported at Osan Air Base and Pyeongtaek US Army Garrison (Camp Humphreys), respectively.

The US Forces Korea raised the risk level across the Korean Peninsula to "high" and declared a public health emergency on the 25th of last month.
