"Numbers 1 and 2 Are Politics of Betrayal... Number 3 Is a New Hope"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Sohn Hak-kyu, the Standing Election Committee Chairman of the Minsaeng Party, criticized on the 3rd, saying, "Blinded by the fight for power, the two major parties are denying the mixed-member proportional representation system and are competing only to dominate by creating satellite proportional representation parties," and added, "The People’s Party is not fielding any district candidates at all, and Chairman Ahn Cheol-soo is running a solo marathon campaign without even registering proportional representation candidates."
At the Central Election Committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Sohn said, "Dear citizens, please condemn this comedic election and restore democracy," and emphasized, "The basic principle of the National Assembly election is the district constituency. A party without district candidates is directly rejecting parliamentary democracy."
Chairman Sohn stated, "It is time to end the politics where the people are held hostage by the tyranny of the two major parties. Multiple parties should negotiate, compromise, and agree to lead the government through a multi-party coalition system to revive the economy and take care of people’s livelihoods," and stressed, "The Minsaeng Party, a practical centrist party, will put an end to the extreme confrontation and fighting politics of the two major parties and revive the economy and livelihoods through multi-party coalition politics and working politics."
Chairman Sohn said, "Numbers 1 and 2 represent politics of betrayal. ‘Hate but give one more chance’ will only bring about more hateful politics. It is time for change. Number 3 will become the new hope of politics," and added, "Without being trapped by ideology and factionalism, we will prioritize people’s livelihoods and the economy through pragmatic centrist reform."
