[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI opened higher due to buying by individuals and foreigners.
At 9:06 a.m. on the 3rd, the KOSPI started the session at 1,734.71, up 0.57% (19.85 points) from the previous close. The index opened at 1,731.17, up 0.37% (6.31 points) from the previous close.
Currently, individuals and foreigners are buying stocks worth 76.1 billion KRW and 33.4 billion KRW respectively. Institutions are selling stocks worth 120.8 billion KRW alone.
By sector, chemicals (1.74%), machinery (1.70%), electrical and electronics (1.37%), and non-metallic minerals (1.19%) showed the largest gains.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics is up 1.28% from the previous close, trading at 47,400 KRW. Other gainers include SK Hynix (0.38%), LG Chem (2.92%), LG Household & Health Care (0.18%), and Samsung SDI (3%).
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index opened at 571.98, up 0.75% (4.28 points) from the previous close. The index opened at 571.29, up 0.63% (3.59 points) from the previous close.
In the market, individuals alone bought stocks worth 30.7 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 21.9 billion KRW and 6.8 billion KRW respectively.
By sector, telecommunication services (3.57%), paper & wood (2.55%), computer services (2.53%), and general electrical and electronics (1.89%) showed the largest gains.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion Healthcare (0.50%), HL Biopharma (1.87%), Seegene (3.43%), Celltrion Pharm (2.77%), CJ ENM (2.19%), and Helixmith (0.13%) rose.
