Distributing Two Personal Copies Each to Vulnerable Groups Including Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 2nd, the Samsan-dong Community Leaders Association (President Kwak Mal-rye) in Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 1st, they produced 1,000 cotton masks and delivered them to the Samsan-dong Administrative Welfare Center to share the difficulties of local residents amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
These masks were made and donated by the 41 community leaders of the Samsan-dong Community Leaders Association, who wanted to use the membership fees they had collected little by little in a meaningful way to help disabled people and elderly living alone who have difficulty purchasing masks directly.
In particular, to participate in the Suncheon-style quarantine movement spreading in the city, the community leaders personally visited a handmade workshop, participated together, and took the lead in assisting with cutting, sewing, and packaging to help the workshop with its labor shortage.
President Kwak Mal-rye of the Samsan-dong Community Leaders Association said, “I am glad to participate in this opportunity to share love that socially helps others, carrying the hearts of all community leaders during this difficult time of COVID-19.”
Kim Jwa-seon, head of Samsan-dong, expressed gratitude, saying, “I appreciate the hard work of the community leaders who always step forward to help in difficult times, and we will make sure to deliver these masks well to families in need.”
