Support for businesses that have been closed for 5 or more consecutive days from the application date... Businesses closed before April 1 can also receive retroactive support if they provide sales record proof
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will provide a closure support fund of up to 1 million KRW to multi-use facilities that complied with the business suspension recommendation period (March 25 to April 20) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The support targets are PC rooms, karaoke rooms (including coin karaoke), billiard halls, fitness centers, sports dojangs, swimming pools, golf practice ranges, and comprehensive sports facilities currently registered with the district office as of March 30.
The eligible facilities must have started closure within 3 days from the application date and maintained closure continuously for at least 5 days. However, if a surprise inspection is conducted once a day and the facility operated even for one day during the closure period, support will not be provided.
The support fund is 100,000 KRW per day of closure, with a maximum payment of 1 million KRW.
Facilities that closed before April 1 can prove sales records during the closure period through card payment terminals and receive support retroactively for up to 3 days. False claims will be subject to recovery measures.
Additionally, if facilities that received retroactive recognition continue to participate in closure after April 2 and close for 5 or more consecutive days, they will receive 100,000 KRW per day up to a maximum of 700,000 KRW.
Applications can be submitted in person at the district office auditorium from April 2 to 10 (excluding weekends) between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the application form, a copy of the business registration certificate, and other related documents.
The district plans to pay the support fund in April after confirming the closure compliance. For detailed inquiries, contact the Gwangjin-gu Office Culture and Sports Division.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I express my gratitude to the businesses that decided to close to participate in social distancing despite economic difficulties caused by the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” and added, “The district decided to provide closure support funds with the hope of being of some help, so we encourage many applications.”
