“Minsaengdang, Gwangju Citizens Urged to Firmly Protect and Support”
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Sohn Hak-kyu, Standing Election Committee Chairman of the Minsheng Party, criticized on the 2nd, saying, "The two major parties are denying parliamentary democracy and trampling on our country's democracy by creating proportional satellite parties," and "The People's Party is also rejecting parliamentary democracy by fielding only proportional candidates without running any district candidates."
At the Minsheng Party Gwangju City Party Election Countermeasures Committee launch ceremony that day, Chairman Sohn said, "The Minsheng Party is the only party fielding both district and proportional candidates, firmly protecting our country's democracy."
Chairman Sohn stated, "Gwangju is the birthplace of democracy in the Republic of Korea. Our Minsheng Party will uphold the spirit of Gwangju May, end the partisan fighting of the two major parties, and achieve coalition politics under a multiparty system," and appealed, "For the sure victory of Minsheng Party, candidate number 3, whose sole motto is Minsheng, I ask the citizens of Gwangju to firmly support and protect the Minsheng Party."
Chairman Sohn emphasized, "In the last general election, Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk firmly established the position of the third party to end the extreme politics of the two major parties," and added, "Our country is now developing through endless political conflicts. Now, the Minsheng Party will transform our country's politics into politics of harmony, coalition, and work."
Chairman Sohn said, "Currently, due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) crisis, our country's economy and society are collapsing. However, even before the COVID-19 crisis, our economy was deteriorating due to ideologically biased economic policies," and stated, "The Minsheng Party will restore Minsheng with the spirit of solely Minsheng and only Minsheng."
