Promoting 110 Projects to Effectively Implement the Old Informatization Basic Plan (2020~2024)
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seongjang Hyun) has established the '2020 Informatization Implementation Plan' to effectively realize the district's Basic Informatization Plan (2020~2024).
Accordingly, the district will invest 9.5 billion KRW this year to promote 110 informatization projects.
The main projects include ▲ Establishment of an integrated control system for public parking lots ▲ Construction of an urban history and culture archive ▲ Maintenance of equipment at the U-Yongsan Integrated Control Center ▲ Installation of smart warning boards and logo projectors for unauthorized garbage dumping guidance ▲ Installation of CCTV in flood-prone areas linked to the smart flood prevention system ▲ Purchase of administrative software, among others.
The integrated control system for public parking lots is a project starting for the first time this year. In the second half of this year, parking control devices will be installed at seven public parking lots in the area to enable automatic vehicle number recognition and parking fee settlement. This is expected to improve both work efficiency and citizen convenience. The project budget is 700 million KRW.
The construction of the urban history and culture archive is also a new project. It aims to systematically collect, manage, and preserve unique local urban, historical, and cultural materials that are disappearing due to redevelopment and other factors. With a budget of 200 million KRW, the project will complete the documentation phase (Phase 1) and the establishment of a digital archive system (Phase 2) by the end of the year.
The U-Yongsan Integrated Control Center is located on the second basement floor of the district office building. It was first installed in 2010 and has shared video information with the police station since 2013, contributing to crime prevention and suspect apprehension. This year, the district will invest 200 million KRW to maintain the center and equipment on an ongoing basis.
The district will also expand smart warning boards and logo projectors to prevent unauthorized garbage dumping. In particular, the smart warning boards are equipped with high-definition CCTV capable of day and night recording and speakers that can output guidance broadcasts, showing great effectiveness in preventing illegal dumping. An additional 39 units will be added to the existing 118 units.
The installation of CCTV related to the smart flood prevention system (http://subang.yongsan.go.kr/) is also noteworthy. Last year, the district was the first autonomous district in Seoul to establish this system, providing data scattered across the Korea Meteorological Administration and the Ministry of Environment in a regionally customized manner. With the linkage of CCTV, it is expected that responses to situations can be made more swiftly.
The budget for purchasing administrative software is 300 million KRW. Genuine software will be purchased to prevent illegal copying and protect copyrights. The main items include MS Office, AutoCAD, AlTools, font collections, and antivirus software.
Seongjang Hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “The district is making multifaceted efforts to realize a digital district administration,” and added, “We will continue the projects mid- to long-term in accordance with the five-year Basic Informatization Plan.”
Last year, the district established the Basic Informatization Plan (2020~2024) over six months. The plan includes four major strategies and 21 tasks to be implemented mid- to long-term: ▲ Supporting a happy life for residents ▲ Establishing cooperative communication with resident participation and empathy ▲ Advancing district services through smart future technologies ▲ Informatization development together with residents.
