At the signing ceremony, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung explained, "Our key policy direction during the COVID-19 crisis is to connect the broken consumption, linking a part of the economic circulation," and added, "The fact that the disaster basic income can be quickly deployed on site is thanks to the technology, know-how, networks, and experience of financial institutions."
The province previously announced that it would provide 100,000 won per person as disaster basic income to Gyeonggi residents.
For those receiving it via local currency or credit card, from the 9th to the 30th of this month, they can verify their status as Gyeonggi residents on the 'Gyeonggi Province Disaster Basic Income Homepage' and enter their local currency card or credit card information.
