'Born Again' Jang Ki-yong: "I Wanted to Challenge Playing Two Roles... Will Show a Completely Different Side"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] Actor Jang Ki-yong, who stars in KBS 2TV's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Born Again,' explained the key points to watch.

'Born Again' is a drama depicting the fate and resurrection of three men and women intertwined through two lives. In the drama, Jang Ki-yong plays Gong Ji-cheol, a character from the 1980s trying to escape his given destiny, and Cheon Jong-beom, a present-day elite medical student with a prosecutor father.

Jang Ki-yong said, "The script was really interesting," adding, "Not only the story itself, but the characters felt very distinctive and charming. None of the characters are ordinary," explaining his reason for joining the drama.

He continued, "Moreover, the opportunity to take on the new challenge of playing two roles attracted me," and said, "At first, it might feel a bit unfamiliar, but I am looking forward to showing a different side from the roles I have played so far."

He challenged himself with the dual roles because he wanted to show diverse acting, explaining, "Since I am playing two completely different characters, I tried to change everything from speech and gaze to external appearance."

Jang Ki-yong said, "'Born Again' has not only gripping tension that you cannot miss but also emotional romance," and added, "We are filming hard, so please wait just a little longer until April."

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's 'Born Again' is scheduled to premiere on the 20th at 10 PM.
