[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju-cheol In] The Gyeongsangnam-do Election Broadcasting Debate Commission announced on the 1st that it will hold the 21st National Assembly election candidate debates from the 2nd to the 9th.

The Public Official Election Act stipulates that at least one candidate debate must be held during the election campaign period for constituency National Assembly elections.

The eligible candidates include those recommended by parties with five or more National Assembly members, candidates recommended by parties that received at least 3% of the total valid votes nationwide in the previous election, and candidates whose average support rate based on public opinion polls conducted and announced by media organizations is at least 5%.

The public opinion polls reflect results conducted and announced up to the day before the start of the election period, which is the 1st.

Voters who miss the debates on the broadcast day can watch them again via mobile and internet (debates.go.kr), YouTube, and Naver TV (Central Election Broadcasting Debate Commission), among others.

The Gyeongnam Election Broadcasting Debate Commission urged, "Please show great interest in the candidate debates and watch them so that the 21st National Assembly election can become a voter-centered policy election."
