7 Regional Economic Revitalization Projects Adopted by Department Proposal to Launch from April... Receipt Collection Event for COVID-19 Prevention Supplies, Development of Online Sales Channels for Traditional Markets, etc.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will implement seven selected projects starting in April, gathering ideas from various departments to support small business owners and self-employed individuals struggling due to the COVID-19 crisis.
In March, several departments of the district office proposed ideas to revitalize the local economy, receiving a total of 34 submissions.
Excluding 17 projects that are already underway or not feasible, the district selected seven projects in total.
The selected projects include ▲Receipt Collection for COVID-19 Prevention Goods Event ▲Development of Online Sales Channels for Traditional Markets ▲Posting Safety Restaurant Status Boards ▲Supporting Local Flower Shops ▲Designating Special Days for Employees (Snack Day, Lunchbox Day, etc.) ▲Operating an App Assistant for Purchasing Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates ▲Providing Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates to Praised Employees, among others.
The "Receipt Collection for COVID-19 Prevention Goods Event" is a project where residents who visit the local community center with receipts totaling over 100,000 KRW from restaurants and traditional markets within the district will receive an infectious disease response kit (hand sanitizer, masks). This event starts on Thursday, April 2, and is open to all residents. (However, only receipts used within the district are eligible, and applications must be made from the address registered in the resident registration.)
The "Development of Online Sales Channels for Traditional Markets" project aims to start delivery services so that traditional market goods can be purchased online. The district will select one market and operate a pilot program starting mid-April.
The "Posting Safety Restaurant Status Boards" project involves attaching safety status boards to restaurants that maintain cleanliness through disinfection so residents can dine with peace of mind. The district plans to actively promote this in cooperation with the Yangcheon-gu branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association to increase the number of restaurants displaying these boards.
Additionally, to support local flower shops, departments and community centers will purchase flower pots from neighborhood flower shops and conduct environmental maintenance. Projects such as designating special days for employees like Snack Day and Dining Out Day to encourage the use of local restaurants have been implemented since April 1.
Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, "Due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, the district is conducting the Good Payment Campaign 'Valuable Consumption Together' as part of efforts to support local small business owners. It would be good to also participate in the Receipt Collection for COVID-19 Prevention Goods Event." He added, "The district will simultaneously promote these seven projects and devote all efforts to saving small business owners and self-employed individuals facing difficulties."
