[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] SSG.com announced on the 1st that it will completely discontinue the issuance of paper order confirmation slips previously provided with online orders and switch entirely to mobile issuance.
SSG.com expects to save 2.5 million A4 sheets of paper every month through the transition to mobile order confirmation issuance. When annualized, this is expected to exceed 30 million sheets, which is equivalent to not cutting down 3,000 trees that are 30 years old.
Prior to this, considering possible confusion among existing users, SSG.com has been conducting the "Smile Finger Campaign" since March 5th, a month ago, to introduce the mobile order confirmation slip.
During this period, when customers use SSG.com's own delivery systems, "Sseuk Delivery" and "Dawn Delivery," they could choose between "Receive Mobile Order Confirmation" and "Receive Paper Order Confirmation" on the payment screen.
However, starting from orders placed on the afternoon of the 1st, 100% mobile order confirmation slips will be applied, and customers will be able to receive them via KakaoTalk notifications and text messages upon product receipt.
SSG.com took environmental protection measures such as introducing the "Albi Bag," which can be used repeatedly and semi-permanently, and ice packs made of water when it launched Dawn Delivery at the end of June last year.
Choi Taek-won, Head of Sales at SSG.com, said, "We aim to enhance customer convenience by allowing them to check order details anytime and anywhere, while also giving them a sense that ordering products online contributes to resource saving and environmental protection. We will continue to actively introduce sustainable eco-friendly services and take the lead in reducing disposable products."
