[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency announced on the 31st that it has raised 6.57 million won in donations to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and will donate the funds to neighbors in need within the local community.
The donations were voluntarily collected by the agency’s executives, employees, and union members. The agency’s labor union donated the entire amount of one month’s union dues.
Lee Jaehong, the agency’s director, and Park Hangoo, head of the affiliated Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Team, also decided to donate 30% and 10% of their salaries respectively over four months to support neighbors in need within the local community.
This joint labor-management donation will be used to support marginalized groups affected by COVID-19 and to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnating.
Director Lee Jaehong said, "I am grateful to the labor union and employees who willingly shared their hearts for our neighbors, and I hope that those in need will recover their daily lives as soon as possible."
