[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will start special transportation from the 30th for citizens arriving from overseas who do not use private cars to reach their destinations, in order to prevent the local spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Arrivals will board a dedicated airport bus after quarantine at Incheon International Airport and head to the base stop, Bucheon Gymnasium. After getting off at the base stop, arrivals will use welfare taxis to move to their final destination and must self-quarantine for 14 days.

Also, they must visit the local health center within 3 days after arrival to undergo a COVID-19 test.

Bucheon citizens who wish to use vehicle support can apply by contacting the Transportation Vulnerable Support Center call center (1588-3815) after boarding the dedicated airport bus.

The city will thoroughly disinfect 10 welfare taxis in operation and provide masks, protective suits, and gloves to transportation workers.

A Bucheon city official said, "Special transportation is being implemented for Bucheon citizens to prepare for the risk of infection that may occur when overseas arrivals use public transportation to reach their destinations," and urged, "Citizens using the support vehicles must wear masks and refrain from contact with others, including the driver."
