Geonsanyeon Publishes '60 Major Tasks for Construction and Housing Regulatory Reform'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The Korea Research Institute for Construction Industry announced on the 31st that it has published the '60 Major Tasks for Construction and Housing Regulatory Reform,' which carefully selects field-centered economic revitalization policies and life-oriented regulatory reform tasks ahead of the 21st general election.

The institute stated that the 60 major regulatory reform tasks include the difficulties felt in the construction industry on the ground and urban and housing issues closely related to ordinary citizens. It also explained that future-oriented policies for regional and social co-development were comprehensively covered. The report is composed of five chapters: ▲Economic Growth and Job Creation ▲Innovation Growth Engines ▲Eradication of Power Abuse and Fair Economy ▲Alleviation of Housing Cost Burden and Urban Housing Supply ▲Recreation of Urban Space.

Previously, in October last year, the institute selected projects to invigorate the regional economy and realize a happy local community through the 'Core Construction Projects Leading Future Growth.' The institute expects that the projects from the previous report and the regulatory reform tasks in this report will create a synergistic effect that leads to regional economic revitalization.

Researcher Huh Yoon-kyung of the institute said, "The economic recession felt by the public and companies is worsening due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)," and added, "I hope this report will be used as a guideline for policy decision-making that leads to regional economic revitalization in the 21st general election." She continued, "If the projects and tasks presented in the two reports over two years are realized, it is expected that the public will feel the speed of economic growth and innovation growth," adding, "With excessive regulations removed, an environment favorable to business will be created."
