According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, at around 11:47 a.m. on the 30th, Mr. A, born in 1953, visited the Busan City Hall Civil Service Office. Mr. A entered the civil service office on the 2nd floor and, demanding that the government recognize the mask he developed, pulled out a thinner container. After a standoff lasting about an hour with police officers and firefighters, he was arrested around 1 p.m.
Mr. A reportedly went to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety carrying the mask he developed to prevent the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), demanding, "Please produce it quickly and allow citizens to wear it," but when his request was rejected, he committed this crime.
Mr. A is currently exercising his right to remain silent, and the police plan to investigate him for obstruction of official duties and other charges.
