[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Dong Hyun-soo, Vice Chairman and CEO of Doosan Corporation, stated that he will do his best to improve financial performance this year.


Doosan Corporation held its 83rd regular shareholders' meeting on the 30th at the Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul. Vice Chairman Dong, who presided over the meeting, said in his greeting, "I will do my best to improve financial performance this year."


Vice Chairman Dong added, "This year, Doosan plans to focus all its capabilities on expanding market share in its core business areas, enhancing profitability, and maximizing customer satisfaction. We will accurately grasp market trends and respond with proactive investments to improve financial performance."


He also said, "We will focus on launching new products and diversifying markets centered on growth sectors such as 5G and network materials, and actively invest in logistics automation solution businesses, including the development of unmanned forklifts and collaborative robots for logistics."


At the meeting, approval was granted for the financial statements and consolidated financial statements, partial amendments to the articles of incorporation, appointment of outside directors and audit committee members, and approval of the director remuneration limit. The articles of incorporation were amended to include business areas necessary for operating Dutamall and Doosan Tower, such as manufacturing and sales of textiles, clothing, bags, and footwear, gift certificate sales, and operation of fitness facilities.


Meanwhile, the Doosan shareholders' meeting ended in about 20 minutes. Although the Chungmu Art Hall, where the meeting was held, was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was temporarily opened for the shareholders' meeting. Doosan provided fever detection cameras and hand sanitizers at the entrance for shareholders attending the meeting.
