Korea Yakult Supports 9 Million Probiotic Drinks to Overcome COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Korea Yakult is supporting the overcoming of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) by providing a ‘Health Support Set’ free of charge.

Korea Yakult announced on the 30th that it will provide a total of 9 million probiotic lactic acid bacteria drinks and other products to customers who are experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19. This amount corresponds to one out of every six people in South Korea. The company will produce additional products for 15 days at its own production plants, with a total value of 6 billion KRW.

Korea Yakult plans to deliver a set consisting of 5 types and 6 products by April 18.

The set includes products suitable for the whole family’s nutritional supplementation, such as the premium children’s drink ‘I Will’ and the nutritious snack ‘Super100’, aimed especially at children whose school openings have been postponed due to COVID-19. A short letter with the message ‘Supporting Customer Health’ is also enclosed.

Korea Yakult’s ‘Health Support Set’ will be delivered directly to customers by 11,000 ‘Fresh Managers’ located nationwide. Support for Daegu and some areas in Gyeongbuk, which were severely affected by COVID-19, was completed around mid-March.
