[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart announced that starting April 2, it will introduce limited edition rental shopping bags featuring the character Pengsoo at Emart stores nationwide.
The limited edition Pengsoo collaboration rental shopping bags being introduced this time consist of ‘Small (17ℓ)’, ‘Medium (35ℓ)’ collaboration bags, and ‘Special Pengsoo Guni Bag (Original·Graffiti, each 24ℓ)’.
The small and medium collaboration bags are based on the yellow rental shopping bags previously operated by Emart, with the Pengsoo character added. They have prepared 100,000 small bags and 50,000 medium bags. For the small and medium bags, customers can receive them at the Customer Satisfaction Center when they pay 50,000 KRW or more and 100,000 KRW or more respectively, including Peacock Pengsoo collaboration products, using the event card.
The Special Pengsoo Guni Bag (shopping bag + backpack) can be carried like a regular shopping bag or worn as a backpack, featuring Pengsoo on a black background. The prepared quantity is 5,000 for the Original and 5,000 for the Graffiti, totaling 10,000.
To receive the Special Pengsoo Guni Bag, customers must collect 6 Pengsoo stamps on the Emart app. One stamp is earned for each Pengsoo collaboration product purchased, with a maximum of 3 stamps per purchase (if more than 3 items are purchased, 3 stamps are credited). Additionally, by paying 30,000 KRW or more once per day with the event card, customers can collect 3 more stamps.
Emart also prepared a photo certification event for customers who find it difficult to participate without the event card.
To participate in the photo certification event, from April 2 to April 29, customers can take commemorative photos at one of the 10 Pengsoo photo walls located inside Emart stores and upload the photos on social networking services (SNS). Winners will be selected by drawing and awarded Pengsoo collaboration shopping bags.
Choi Hoonhak, Emart’s marketing manager, said, “We introduced the Pengsoo collaboration shopping bags to secure young customers in their 20s and 30s and to encourage the use of eco-friendly shopping bags.” He added, “Through this promotion, we hope customers will naturally participate in eco-friendly consumption activities and take the opportunity to reconsider environmental protection.”
