[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Artificial intelligence (AI) specialized companies newly entering the Gwangju area and existing AI-related companies in the region plan to hire 150 talents this year.
Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 29th that it will hold an AI specialized workforce recruitment briefing session at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in early May.
The upcoming recruitment briefing session will be jointly attended by the AI Industry Convergence Project Group, established to create a ‘Gwangju-type AI business foundation,’ as well as AI attraction companies in Gwangju such as TmaxSoft and Saltlux, along with local AI specialized companies.
The recruitment briefing session aims to provide job opportunities for young people in the Gwangju area and recruit outstanding talents. Major domestic AI specialized companies will directly introduce key employment information such as recruitment schedules and procedures to university students and local job seekers.
The main participating companies include approximately 10 companies such as Incord Co., Ltd., TmaxSoft Co., Ltd., Saltlux Co., Ltd., Infoworks Co., Ltd., Telstar Hommel Co., Ltd., Spatial Information Co., Ltd., Cybermedic Co., Ltd., NetOn Co., Ltd., GhostPay, and IndieJay Co., Ltd., as well as the AI Industry Convergence Project Group, planning to hire about 150 AI specialists.
In particular, this recruitment briefing session is expected to serve as the first step toward creating an industrial ecosystem for the ‘AI-centered city Gwangju’ with AI attraction companies such as TmaxSoft and Saltlux and local AI-related companies, acting as a signal for AI talent development and the creation of Gwangju-type AI jobs.
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “As new jobs are created in the AI field, good opportunities will open up for university students and young job seekers in our region,” adding, “Gwangju City will continue to focus all its capabilities on creating an AI industry ecosystem and will strive to attract more AI specialized companies to provide quality jobs for young people.”
