[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seongjang Hyun) installed a full-body disinfectant device called 'Caregate' at the rear entrance of the district office on the 27th.
It is the first among Seoul's autonomous districts.
Caregate uses six precisely machined nozzles to spray a harmless disinfectant mist every time a person passes through.
The areas contacted by the disinfectant are known to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria and viruses. Even if it gets on clothes, no discoloration or deformation occurs.
Seongjang Hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, "We installed a full-body disinfectant device at the district office entrance as part of our COVID-19 prevention plan," adding, "We will not let our guard down until the situation is over."
Since the 28th of last month, the district has closed 9 out of 11 entrances to the district office building, operating only 2. Two units each of fever detectors, personal disinfectant devices, and air sterilizers are in operation.
Suspected COVID-19 patients can get tested immediately at the screening clinic located on the basement level 1 of the district office building (ground floor 1 from the main road side).
Additionally, the district has installed transparent partitions at the civil service counters and the district cafeteria, leading efforts in social distancing.
As of 10 a.m. on the 27th, the district has 8 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 40 people in self-quarantine.
