[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] Special affiliates of Park Young-hwan, CEO of Greenplus, have increased their stakes in the company to strengthen management control and enhance shareholder value. Greenplus is a KOSDAQ company specializing in advanced greenhouses and smart farms.

On the 26th, Greenplus announced that special affiliates of CEO Park purchased 43,632 shares through on-market transactions. The company explained, "Due to the continued stock price weakness caused by worsening domestic and international conditions such as the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we acquired shares to stabilize the stock price and practice responsible management."

A Greenplus official stated, "To overcome difficult management conditions, we will strengthen responsible management based on shareholders' trust and further grow the company."

Greenplus offers a 'one-stop service' from smart farm design to material procurement and construction. In particular, the volume of exports to Japan, an advanced greenhouse country, exceeds domestic sales, demonstrating internationally competitive technology and know-how. Based on smart farm technology patents and construction technology competitiveness, the company has achieved construction results of over 200,000 pyeong of advanced greenhouses domestically over the past 20 years.

A Greenplus official said, "With the government’s Smart Farm Innovation Valley policy actively fostering the advanced greenhouse business, orders are expected to continuously increase over the next four years," adding, "We will strengthen the company’s technological capabilities and competitiveness to maintain growth."
