[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Daejeon has increased by 3. Two of the confirmed cases were identified as close contacts of existing confirmed patients.
According to Daejeon City on the 26th, a teenage male B (#29, Yuseong-gu Jukdong) and a woman in her 40s C (#30, Yuseong-gu Guam-dong), who had contact with a woman in her 40s A (#27, resident of Yuseong Jukdong) confirmed positive for COVID-19 the previous day, were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Mr. B is the son of Ms. A and was recently attending classes at an academy in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu. Ms. C was also classified as a close contact of Ms. A.
Earlier, the city had classified 15 people, including Ms. A’s two children and coworkers, as close contacts.
Additionally, a person arriving from Europe was confirmed positive in Daejeon. Ms. D (#31), a woman in her 20s residing in Gwanpyeong-dong, Yuseong-gu, was confirmed to have recently arrived from Europe.
The city and health authorities plan to close and disinfect visited locations as soon as the movements of the confirmed cases are identified.
Meanwhile, as of today, the total cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Daejeon area is 31.
