[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased to 9,241 on the 26th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 104 compared to the previous day. Among them, 30 patients were identified during the quarantine process for incoming travelers. Additional patients in the metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk region were 27 and 38, respectively.
By region, Daegu had the highest number with 26 cases, followed by Gyeonggi (14), Seoul (13), Gyeongbuk (12), Daejeon (6), Chungbuk (1), Chungnam (1), and Incheon (1).
The number of patients who were declared recovered and released from quarantine increased by 414 from the previous day to 4,144. The death toll rose by 5 during the same period to 131.
