[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] President Moon Jae-in was reported to have assets totaling 1,949 million KRW as of the end of last year. This represents a decrease of approximately 67 million KRW compared to the previous amount.
According to the '2020 Regular Asset Disclosure List' published in the government gazette by the Government Official Ethics Committee on the 26th, President Moon declared the total amount of assets as stated above.
The main reason for the decrease in President Moon's total assets is the exclusion of 151 million KRW in assets belonging to his late mother, Kang Han-ok, who passed away in October last year. Excluding this, the combined assets of President Moon and his wife Kim Jung-sook increased by about 85 million KRW.
The land owned by President Moon increased from 208.6 million KRW previously to 219.43 million KRW at the end of last year. The presidential residence located in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, was reported at 332 million KRW, up by 14 million KRW.
The total amount of deposits held by President Moon and Mrs. Kim rose by 67.96 million KRW from the previous 1,482.12 million KRW to 1,550.08 million KRW. President Moon explained that the increase in savings was due to earned income and pension income.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Kim reported selling her 2013 Sportage R vehicle, which she owned, for 13 million KRW. President Moon reported his 2010 Sorento R vehicle under his name at 8.83 million KRW. Additionally, President Moon declared ownership of nine copyright properties.
