[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has been finally selected for the "Our Neighborhood Care Center Intensive Support District Selection Project" hosted by Seoul City, receiving a total support of 7.063 billion KRW.
Our Neighborhood Care Centers serve as care spaces that fill the gap time for elementary school students after school and during vacations, providing services that allow working parents to entrust their children with peace of mind.
The target users are all children aged 6 to 12 who need care. During the school term, the centers operate from 1 PM to 7 PM, and during vacations, from 9 AM to 7 PM.
Gwangjin-gu was highly evaluated for the necessity to expand care centers due to high care demand and the proactive will of the district head, leading to its final selection.
The district opened and has been operating the first Our Neighborhood Care Center in Jayang 3-dong since September last year, and with this selection, plans to establish 10 centers by the end of this year to eliminate care blind spots.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "Our Neighborhood Care Centers aim to resolve the care issues of elementary school students and create a society where both children and parents are happy. Starting with this intensive support district selection, we will install care centers in all 15 neighborhoods by 2021 to build a more thorough care service network without leaving any area behind."
