Eunpyeong-gu 'Areumdaun Cheongnyeondeul' Delivers Packages of Supplies for COVID-19 Prevention Galhyeon 1-dong

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 20th, a group of young people visited the Galhyeon 1-dong and Galhyeon 2-dong community centers to deliver 50 "Pause Packages" each to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The packages contain six types of items: one hand sanitizer, six instant rice packs, five ramen packs, patches, seaweed, and soap. The package is named "Corona Ajak," where "Ajak" stands for "Areumdaun Jageun Silcheon," meaning "Beautiful Small Practice."

Five young people active in Eunpyeong-gu raised funds through a website due to the spread of COVID-19, purchased the items with the collected donations, packed them themselves, and delivered them to the community centers. The packages will be distributed to 50 households in the area, including elderly people living alone and low-income residents living in goshiwons.

The "Eojjeoda Eunpyeong" team, who planned Corona Ajak, said, "We wanted to do something, so like-minded acquaintances gathered to raise funds," adding, "We hope that these small actions we can take will come together to help everyone's daily lives recover as soon as possible."

Akyung-sik, head of Galhyeon 1-dong, said, "Meeting the young people who stepped forward during this difficult and challenging time gave us great strength, and the community center will do its best in various ways to help residents overcome the coronavirus."

Han Yong-wook, head of Galhyeon 2-dong, said, "I am glad that during this time when everyone is struggling due to COVID-19, the young people's innovative planning and volunteer spirit have enabled us to help many people."
