[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Eastar Jet will suspend all domestic flights for one month starting from the 24th. Following the suspension of international routes, Eastar Jet has effectively entered a 'shutdown' state by halting domestic routes as well.

According to the aviation industry on the 21st, Eastar Jet will suspend operations on the Gimpo, Cheongju, and Gunsan to Jeju routes from the 24th of this month until the 25th of next month, for about one month.

During this period, passengers with reservations will be endorsed to Jeju Air flights, the acquiring company. Endorsement refers to a system that connects passengers to another airline's flight when the itinerary of the originally issued ticket has changed.

Previously, Eastar Jet had suspended international flights due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). With the suspension of domestic flights as well, all routes have now been halted.

An Eastar Jet official explained, "This measure is to minimize damage amid the overall difficulties in the industry caused by the decrease in passengers due to COVID-19."
