The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 18th that starting from tomorrow dawn, winds will gradually strengthen mainly in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong Province, and Jeolla Province, and from the morning, very strong winds will blow nationwide. The winds will remain very strong until the morning of the 20th, when cold air moves out over the East Sea.
The maximum instantaneous wind speed is expected to exceed 34 m/s in the eastern Gangwon region, and very strong winds exceeding 25 m/s are expected nationwide until night. Waves will also rise very high at 2 to 6 meters, increasing the likelihood of a storm warning being issued, and thunderstorm gusts accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected in the West Sea and East Sea.
Additionally, from tomorrow morning to daytime, localized showers accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning are expected mainly in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, western Gangwon, Chungcheong Province, and inland North Jeolla Province.
Daytime temperatures will rise by more than 15 degrees Celsius in many areas, continuing warm weather corresponding to mid-April compared to the average. However, from the afternoon of the 19th, cold northwesterly winds will blow, keeping daytime temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius in the Seoul metropolitan area, making most places chilly. It is expected to warm up again from the 20th.
