[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] A YouTuber diagnosed with a level 2 disability due to a weak heart has sparked controversy by claiming he was indiscriminately assaulted by a middle school classmate.

YouTuber Kim Jaeseok revealed on the 14th that he was assaulted while conducting a YouTube broadcast with his middle school classmate A on the YouTube channel 'Jung Baewoo: Incident and Issue.'

According to Kim, on the 11th at around 11:50 PM, he was broadcasting at a restaurant run by his mother with A and A’s acquaintance B.

Kim explained, "'(A) assaulted me, saying 'Do you think I'm easy?'' We were never close, only greeting each other when we met in the neighborhood, but since he wanted to appear as a guest, I invited him to the broadcast, and this happened."

Kim also released a 12-minute closed-circuit television (CCTV) video capturing the assault during the broadcast. In the footage, A hits Kim’s head with his hands and a soju bottle. He also pushes a chair to knock Kim down and assaults him using his hands and feet. Despite B trying to intervene, A repeatedly strikes Kim with a frying pan and other objects.

Kim’s mother, who appeared with him on 'Jung Baewoo,' showed the frying pan used in the assault and said, "(Kim) is lucky to be alive."

Kim’s side stated, "The police arrived after a report was made, and after the situation was resolved, A returned to the restaurant." They claimed, "Only my father was at the restaurant at the time, and A made insulting remarks related to my disability."

However, A’s side denied the allegations through another YouTube broadcast, calling them "severely distorted claims" and saying, "I said I wanted to apologize."

Meanwhile, some netizens posted a petition titled 'Strengthen Punishment for the Perpetrator Who Assaulted YouTuber Kim Jaeseok for 10 Minutes' on the Blue House National Petition Board, urging punishment for A. The petition has surpassed the 100 preliminary agreement threshold and has been officially registered.
