[Asia Economy Reporter Won Dara] The United Future Party has been accused of forcing only the party officials from the New Conservative Party to resign during the integration process with the Liberty Korea Party and the New Conservative Party.
Party officials from the New Conservative Party issued a statement titled "We are party officials of the United Future Party Secretariat" on the 15th.
In the statement, they claimed, "The General Affairs Bureau of the United Future Party forced voluntary resignations by discussing only voluntary retirement and compensation individually with party officials from the New Conservative Party."
They also criticized, "It is unacceptable that all officials from the Liberty Korea Party were guaranteed employment succession while harsh sacrifices were demanded from those from the New Conservative Party," adding, "As party officials who have signed normal labor contracts with the Secretariat, there is no reason to accept a voluntary retirement plan that unilaterally demands sacrifice."
Since the launch of the United Future Party, among about 10 party officials from the New Conservative Party, four were hired by the United Future Party Secretariat on a contract basis, but the remaining members reportedly did not join the United Future Party.
In response, the United Future Party countered through the "Secretariat Labor Union Statement," saying, "After the party's withdrawal and the presidential election defeat, about 50 Secretariat party officials underwent restructuring and suffered from financial difficulties of the party, including voluntary retirement applications until recently," and stated, "Further discussions on (the employment of New Conservative Party officials) are absolutely impossible."
They continued, "In support of the party leader's integration decision, some contracts with 'volunteers' from the New Conservative Party have already been accepted," and rebutted, "Many Secretariat party officials still strongly oppose this."
