[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is recruiting the 5th Youth Participation Committee until April 17, where youth can directly discover policies related to youth and propose their opinions.
The ‘Gwangjin-gu Youth Participation Committee’ was launched in 2016 to promote active participation and activities of youth in the process of establishing youth-related policies in Gwangjin-gu and to listen to diverse opinions from youth.
Applicants must be residents of Gwangjin-gu aged 9 to 24, according to the youth age criteria under the Youth Basic Act, and a total of 30 people will be selected through document screening.
To apply, download the application form from the Gwangjin-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it in person at the local community service center or the Gwangjin-gu Office Child and Youth Division, or apply via email (hellomrmr@gwangjin.go.kr).
Main activities include ▲ discovering youth policies and projects ▲ youth capacity-building workshops and democratic citizenship education ▲ campaign activities ▲ network exchange activities among youth participation organizations.
As a member of the Youth Participation Committee, participants will receive various activity support benefits such as ▲ volunteer hours credited for campaign activities ▲ mayor’s commendation for outstanding participants ▲ recommendation for Seoul city youth participation organization membership and learning mentoring ▲ activity expense support.
