Startup Meditherapy Co-CEOs Hanseung Lee and Seungjin Lee
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] "Our goal is to create a brand loved by billions worldwide. If we can first pass the rigorous US market, it will be easier to succeed in Europe, Japan, China, Africa, and South America."
Mediterapi, which settled in a shared office in Gangnam, Seoul, is a media commerce company founded in 2017 by co-CEOs Lee Hanseung (38) and Lee Seungjin (38). Recently, the company changed its name from Myuzel to Mediterapi and is tightening its laces to become a global company by focusing on the 'healing' product line.
Mediterapi is a 'personal care' brand focused on individual healing. It is famous for its 'Dermarelax Healing Patch,' which, when applied like a plaster on the soles of the feet, absorbs sweat and waste with peppermint and mugwort extracts to relieve fatigue. This product achieved sales of 1.05 billion KRW within three months of launch and surpassed cumulative sales of 20 billion KRW in one year, earning it the nickname '20 Billion Foot Patch.' Mediterapi plans to focus on creating and selling products that alleviate chronic pains suffered by busy modern people, such as lower body edema, cold hands and feet, and turtle neck syndrome. They plan to launch at least eight new products in the first half of this year, including small tools, consumable patches, and devices. CEO Lee Hanseung said, "Good blood circulation alone can relieve fatigue in the body," adding, "We will pursue the value of circulation centered on three main concepts (healing, relax, massage) going forward."
CEO Lee Seungjin stated, "Brand value like Coca-Cola or Disney is the result of the responsibility of those who considered the performance to meet consumers' expectations and demands," expressing the ambition to "succeed as a global brand remembered and loved by billions for a long time."
As the first step toward entering the global market, Mediterapi has targeted the United States. CEO Lee Seungjin said, "The US market has many brands and great diversity in regions, races, and social classes," adding, "Highly advanced marketing channels are necessary to promote Mediterapi within this environment."
As the first button, they opened their US website for their own mall in January and completed beta testing, and are now focusing on infrastructure building. CEO Lee Seungjin explained, "If we can first pass the strict US regulations such as the FDA, the chances of success in other countries like Europe, Japan, China, Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America will be higher."
