[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Chang-woo Lee) is promoting a postpartum care assistant training project to provide smooth services in the postpartum care assistant field, which is experiencing a shortage of personnel, until July, and to create new jobs.

First, the district will announce a call for implementing agencies by the 18th to ensure smooth project implementation.

Applications are open to postpartum care assistant professional training institutions designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Applicants must prepare the project application form and plan and visit the District Office Job Policy Division.

After review by the Private Consignment Deliberation Committee, the consignment company will be finally selected on the 27th.

From the 16th to April 24th, recruitment for the postpartum care assistant training course will also be conducted.

Applicants must be Dongjak-gu residents aged between 40 and under 64. Refer to the district website’s notices and announcements section and visit the Dongjak-gu Job Plus Center (161 Jangseungbaegi-ro) to apply in person.

The training will be held at the Dongjak-gu Job Plus Center in May, lasting 10 days with 6 hours per day, totaling 60 hours, and the training fee is completely free.

The main curriculum includes ▲ postpartum care and newborn care ▲ nutrition management and hygiene management ▲ understanding the roles of postpartum mothers and newborn health caregivers ▲ practical training in newborn care.

After completing the training, support will be provided to connect trainees with nine postpartum care assistant companies in the region to facilitate employment.

Additionally, the district is promoting the ‘New Middle-aged Social Contribution Activity Support Project’ in collaboration with the Dongjak 50+ Center, which matches middle-aged and older adults with expertise and experience to nonprofit organizations requiring professional personnel.

For inquiries, contact the Job Policy Division at ☎820-9340 for guidance.

Jin-hee Jo, head of the Job Policy Division, said, “We expect that this postpartum care assistant training will contribute to creating women’s jobs for the new middle-aged generation,” and added, “We encourage many residents who are interested to participate.”

In response to the era of 100 years of life, the district established the nation’s first ‘Senior Happiness Corporation’ to create a healthy foundation for seniors’ later years, striving to provide high-quality specialized jobs in fields such as cleaning, childcare, and handmade crafts production and sales.
