[Asia Economy Reporter Jihee Kim] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 8th that it will operate a comprehensive care program for electric vehicle buyers called ‘beliEVe’.


beliEVe is a program that combines various benefits related to quality, charging, and economy, which are the most important considerations when purchasing an electric vehicle, to make buying and operating an electric vehicle easier and more convenient. Hyundai Motor explained that it is enhancing trust in electric vehicle quality through ▲high-voltage battery warranty ▲free warranty for electric vehicle exclusive parts ▲basic Blue inspection.


First, the high-voltage battery warranty service applies to Ioniq Electric, Kona Electric, Porter II Electric, and others. Individual customers who purchase a new Ioniq Electric receive a lifetime battery warranty service, and the 2020 Kona Electric offers a free battery warranty service for 10 years or 200,000 km.


In addition to the battery, a ‘free warranty service for electric vehicle exclusive parts’ is provided for electric vehicle-specific parts such as the drive motor, reducer, and slow charger, allowing drivers to operate their vehicles without burden during the ownership period. This service is available for Ioniq Electric, Kona Electric, and Porter II Electric.


Furthermore, electric vehicle exclusive charging services such as the Hi-Charger mobile app, charging cost support financial program, and on-demand charging service are provided. When using Hyundai’s ‘Hi-Charger’ application introduced last year, users can conveniently check the locations of nearby charging stations and congestion times. An ‘optimal route recommendation service’ that suggests electric vehicle charging stations located along the route from the departure point to the destination is also offered.


Hyundai Motor will operate a ‘charging cost support financial program’ starting this month, which provides either a ‘free personal charger’ or an ‘electric vehicle charging card (300,000 points)’ to Kona Electric and Ioniq Electric individual and sole proprietor customers who use dedicated installment, card, or lease promotions, reducing the burden of charging costs.


For the ‘economy’ of electric vehicles, Hyundai has prepared an electric vehicle used car price guarantee program, electric vehicle exclusive lease and rental programs, and Blue Members exclusive card purchase benefits. The used car price guarantee program targets individual buyers (non-business owners) of Ioniq Electric and Kona Electric and guarantees the residual value of the existing vehicle when reselling within 2 to 3 years after new car purchase and repurchasing a new Hyundai vehicle. The exclusive lease and rental program allows leasing electric vehicles such as Ioniq Electric and Kona Electric with monthly payments ranging from 170,000 to 290,000 KRW.


A Hyundai Motor official said, "We have organized the comprehensive care program ‘beliEVe’ so that customers can purchase and operate electric vehicles with greater confidence and practicality," adding, "We will continue to introduce various customer services tailored to the lifestyles of electric vehicle drivers to expand the electric vehicle base."
