Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok Secures Top Spot in Metropolitan Leaders' Evaluation for 10 Consecutive Months


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, has firmly held the first place for 10 consecutive months in a job performance evaluation survey targeting 17 metropolitan governors during the 7th local government term.


Along with this, Jeonnam Province has maintained the first place for 10 months in the resident life satisfaction category.


According to Jeonnam Province on the 6th, in the February job performance evaluation survey of provincial governors conducted by the polling specialist agency Realmeter, Governor Kim scored 68.3%, securing first place for 10 consecutive months.


Next were Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, with 61.5%, and Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju, with 59.0%, while the average positive evaluation of the 17 provincial governors was 47.7%.


Also, in the nationwide resident life satisfaction survey of 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, Jeonnam Province ranked highest for 10 consecutive months with 68.4%.


Following were Jeju Special Self-Governing Province with 62.5% and Seoul Special City with 62.2%, while the average resident life satisfaction of all metropolitan cities and provinces was 54.9%.


In the job performance evaluation survey targeting superintendents of education in cities and provinces nationwide, Jang Seok-woong, Superintendent of Jeonnam Education Office, received a positive evaluation of 58.6% for "doing well," followed by Kim Seung-hwan, Superintendent of Jeonbuk Education Office, with 51.1%, and Jang Hwi-guk, Superintendent of Gwangju Education Office, with 49.5%.


The average positive evaluation of all metropolitan city and provincial superintendents of education nationwide was 41.7%.


Meanwhile, this survey was conducted from the 22nd to the 27th of last month using a random telephone dialing automated response method for both landline and mobile phones, targeting 17,000 residents aged 18 and over nationwide (1,000 per metropolitan city and province).


The sampling error margin is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
