Geumcheon-gu Urban Regeneration Project Takes Flight

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH Corporation, Seoul Regional Headquarters Director Oh Seung-sik) have agreed to join forces to discover and promote customized urban regeneration projects tailored to Geumcheon-gu.

On the 3rd, the district signed a "Urban Regeneration Business Partnership Agreement for Collaborative Urban Regeneration" with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (Seoul Regional Headquarters) at the Geumcheon-gu Office small conference room.

The signing ceremony was attended by about 10 officials, including Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yu Seong-hoon and Korea Land and Housing Corporation Seoul Regional Headquarters Director Oh Seung-sik.

Through this agreement, both organizations agreed to discover and promote customized urban regeneration projects that residents can feel, targeting areas with insufficient living infrastructure and declining urban functions.

Additionally, they plan to actively cooperate on △ Urban Regeneration New Deal project contests △ complex development projects on national and public land △ rental housing supply projects across the entire Geumcheon-gu area.

Oh Seung-sik, Director of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation Seoul Regional Headquarters, stated, “We will cooperate with Geumcheon-gu to discover and promote various urban regeneration projects, including residential environment improvements.”

In the future, both organizations will form a working-level consultative body to select new project sites and conduct detailed reviews and consultations to ensure tangible projects are realized.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “This agreement is expected to give momentum to the implementation of urban regeneration projects suited to our district’s characteristics,” adding, “We will do our best to expand effective urban regeneration projects that residents can feel.”
