[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Yongin Dabos Hospital clarified on the 3rd regarding reports that a confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) occurred at the hospital, stating, "A confirmed patient did not occur inside the hospital; the test was conducted at the screening clinic."
In a post on its official Facebook page that day, Dabos Hospital said, "Yesterday afternoon, the patient underwent a COVID-19 test at a separately established screening clinic due to suspected symptoms."
The hospital stated, "The patient returned home after the test and, after being suspected, was transferred to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency for detailed testing," adding, "Currently, Dabos Hospital has completed disinfection in coordination with the public health center as a preemptive measure, and screening will resume on the afternoon of the 3rd in accordance with Ministry of Health and Welfare standards."
Additionally, the hospital explained, "To reiterate, no confirmed patient has occurred inside Dabos Hospital," and "This post is not simply because the hospital's name was mentioned, but to inform the accurate facts."
They also requested, "Since some media headlines read 'Dabos Hospital COVID-19 Confirmed,' the hospital has been receiving too many confirmation calls, which may disrupt operations," and "We ask for encouragement for the medical staff and employees who are doing their best at the screening clinic despite the risks."
Earlier that day, multiple media outlets reported that a confirmed COVID-19 case occurred at Dabos Hospital in Kimryangjang-dong, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do.
