At the Shincheonji press conference held on the 2nd, a female Shincheonji official sat beside Chairman Lee, who has hearing difficulties, to relay questions on his behalf. This official not only conveyed questions by addressing him as "Chairman" but also informed him of the answers.
This woman is Kim Pyeong-hwa, Chairman Lee’s closest aide and secretary, who became the second-in-command of Shincheonji and was involved in an extramarital relationship after Kim Nam-hee left.
At the press conference, when Chairman Lee was asked, "Do you believe you are immortal?" Kim Pyeong-hwa interrupted, saying, "That’s not a question. (You) don’t have to answer."
When Chairman Lee responded to a question about the results of the COVID-19 test by saying, "I was told to take it, so I did, but I’m not sure what the result was," Kim Pyeong-hwa answered on his behalf, "It’s negative."
When asked, "Since when have you been in Gapyeong?" Chairman Lee replied, "I haven’t stayed in one place here; I’ve been moving around," but Kim Pyeong-hwa told him to answer, "Say you stayed here without moving."
