[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is conducting emergency disinfection measures against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in cooperation with the military.


According to Seoul City on the 3rd, this disinfection operation involves the deployment of 12 K-10 decontamination vehicles and 411 personnel from the Capital Defense Command. Each K-10 decontamination vehicle can carry up to 2,500 liters of disinfectant at once, which is enough to disinfect an area of 1,500 square meters. On the 24th of last month, Mayor Park Won-soon held an emergency Seoul Safety Management Committee meeting chaired by the mayor and requested cooperation from the Capital Defense Command.


The city plans to conduct disinfection daily based on applications from each autonomous district, focusing on locations such as stations and parks. Support personnel and equipment will be mobilized according to the situation in each area. If necessary, disinfection equipment and personnel will also be provided for screening clinics and places visited by confirmed cases.


Meanwhile, the 2020 1st Seoul Metropolitan Government Local Public Official Open Competitive and Career Competitive Written Examination, originally scheduled for the 21st, has been postponed to April. The new date for the written examination will be separately announced within this month.
