On the same day, Vice Minister Koo held a meeting on civilian-military technology mutual utilization at the Government Complex Sejong with related ministries, affiliated organizations, and private experts participating, and said, "To revitalize the mutual utilization of civilian-military technology, we must reorganize the support system by project cycle to achieve practical success."
He emphasized, "Advanced countries and global defense companies are actively pursuing civilian-military technology mutual utilization strategies through mergers and acquisitions to secure the MilTech 4.0 market."
He also pointed out, "Since 1999, the government has continuously promoted civilian-military technology cooperation projects centered on the Agency for Defense Development through inter-ministerial collaboration, but even projects where technology transfer has been completed lack follow-up commercialization support systems, resulting in insufficient tangible and perceptible outcomes."
He urged related ministries, "Let us actively collaborate so that a model that produces concrete and tangible results can be developed."
Meanwhile, the government plans to announce specific details through the 2020 civilian-military technology cooperation project implementation plan on the 4th.
