[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actress Han Ye-seul, who attended Milan Fashion Week in Italy, stated that there is no issue regarding concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
On the 2nd, Han Ye-seul's agency Partners Park said, "Han Ye-seul shows no signs of health abnormalities," adding, "We were also surprised after seeing the news, but after internally checking with the actor and accompanying staff, fortunately, no one showed fever or any abnormal symptoms."
They continued, "If any abnormality appears even slightly, she will get tested immediately."
At around the same time, not only Han Ye-seul but also singer Chungha and NU'EST member Hwang Min-hyun attended Milan Fashion Week.
On the 1st, Chungha's agency MNH Entertainment announced through the official fan cafe, "Chungha returned to Korea on the 24th after completing her schedule in Italy," and "One of the staff who accompanied her during the shoot showed fever symptoms and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after testing."
They added, "We requested self-quarantine and conducted tests for all accompanying personnel including Chungha, and one additional person tested positive later, so we took necessary measures. All other staff tested negative, and Chungha received a negative test result on March 1."
Following the request of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Chungha canceled all scheduled events and entered self-quarantine. Regarding this, the agency explained, "For safety, all scheduled events have been canceled for the time being, and we will continue to take all possible measures and respond diligently."
Hwang Min-hyun also stated that no staff members were infected with COVID-19 and is undergoing self-quarantine according to the CDC's request.
On the 1st, Hwang Min-hyun's agency Pledis Entertainment said, "All staff including Hwang Min-hyun tested negative for COVID-19," adding, "There is no health issue with Hwang Min-hyun, and he is currently self-quarantining following the CDC's recommendation, with no schedules planned after returning from Milan."
Meanwhile, as of 9 a.m. on the 2nd (Korean time), Italy has confirmed a total of 1,577 COVID-19 cases and 34 deaths.
