Confirmed COVID-19 Case in Yeongdeungpo Headquarters General Affairs Team Employee... All Employees Working from Home
All External Access Restricted... Disinfection Conducted Twice and Additional Disinfection Planned
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Jo Kyung-soo, CEO of Lotte Food, has been classified as a close contact due to a secretary employee in the headquarters general affairs team testing positive for COVID-19 and is currently under self-quarantine. Additionally, Lotte Food has implemented access control for employees following the confirmed case and conducted disinfection of the headquarters building.
According to Lotte Food on the 28th, the general affairs team employee was notified by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency of a positive COVID-19 diagnosis that morning, and all external access to the office located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul was blocked. Earlier, on the evening of the 26th, this employee was classified as a close contact and self-quarantined after a friend tested positive. Since the employee was responsible for CEO Jo's secretarial duties, CEO Jo was also classified as a close contact and is currently self-quarantining.
Lotte Food began remote work for all employees starting on the 27th. Since the employee worked from the 24th to the 26th, employees who were at the headquarters' first-floor entrance as well as on the 8th and 9th floors where the employee had been present were advised to self-quarantine if any COVID-19 related symptoms appeared or were suspected.
A Lotte Food official stated, "From the 27th, as a preventive measure, we have conducted disinfection of the headquarters twice and will carry out additional disinfection. Future measures, including whether to extend remote work, will be determined according to the guidelines of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency."
