Considering the Unique Characteristics of G-Valley with Many SMEs, a 'Customized Administrative Workforce Training Project' is Also Being Promoted
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is operating an employment support program for women who have experienced career interruptions or are seeking jobs.
Guro-gu recently established the ‘Women’s Employment Class’ to provide vocational training opportunities in promising industries.
First, a training course for ‘Webtoon Instructors,’ a field with increasing demand due to after-school programs and the implementation of the Free Semester System, will be opened. The lectures will focus on practical skills such as croquis techniques, character setting, scenario, and storyboard production.
The training period is from March 23 to June 4, and the number of participants is 22.
Education for ‘Dementia Prevention Trainers’ in preparation for an aging society will also be held. Participants will learn about dementia and welfare policies, dementia management activities such as music, physical exercise, and art, and will also participate in field trips and practical training. The education runs from April 1 to May 21, recruiting 28 participants.
The target audience is unemployed women aged 20 to 50 living in the area. Those who wish to enroll should inquire in advance at the Guro Women’s Human Resources Development Center (867-8834) and apply in person by March 18 for the ‘Webtoon Instructor’ course and by March 27 for the ‘Dementia Prevention Trainer’ course. The tuition fee is 50,000 KRW.
Considering the characteristics of the local industry with many small and medium-sized enterprises, Guro-gu is also promoting the ‘G-Valley Customized Administrative Office Staff Training Project.’
In small and medium-sized enterprises, it is common for one employee to perform various tasks, but securing personnel is difficult. Therefore, Guro-gu plans to produce specialized personnel that meet corporate demands through a program covering general administrative tasks such as general affairs, accounting, and human resource management.
The training will take place after mid-March, and the tuition fee is free.
Women aged 18 to under 45 residing in Guro-gu are eligible to participate. Those who wish to enroll should apply by phone to the Guro Women’s Human Resources Development Center by 5 p.m. on March 6.
The number of recruits is 20, and selection will be made through document screening and interviews.
A Guro-gu official said, “We expect this employment support program to increase women’s participation in social and economic activities and help alleviate companies’ difficulties in finding employees,” and added, “We hope for the interest and participation of many residents.”
