Seongnam City to Operate Bicycle Repair Shops Starting March 2...

[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will operate bicycle repair shops from April 2 to June 30.

On the 28th, Seongnam City announced that it will operate bicycle repair shops in two ways: fixed repair shops installed along Tancheon Stream and mobile repair shops visiting 20 locations in the area.

The fixed repair shop is set up in an open space by Tancheon Stream behind Mannachurch in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The mobile repair shops operate by setting up bicycle repair stations at each location according to a rotation schedule, including Bokjeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center (March 10), Seohyeon 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center (March 11), and Gumi 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center (March 12).

Every Friday, a mobile bicycle repair shop is installed under Sujeonggyo Bridge along Tancheon Stream, where many cyclists gather.

The mobile repair shops operate from Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Light maintenance such as inflating bicycle tires, oil replenishment, and checking and adjusting brakes, chains, and derailleurs is provided free of charge.

Costs for bicycle parts over 1,000 won are borne by the user, and repairs are done at wholesale prices without labor charges.

Both mobile and fixed repair shops are available to anyone who rides a bicycle regardless of their residence.

Last year, the city inspected and repaired 4,037 bicycles.
