Yongsan Primary Election Set Between Kwon Young-se, Jo Sang-gyu, and Hwang Chun-ja
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hye-min] Former North Korean Ambassador to the UK Tae Yong-ho has been given a priority recommendation (strategic nomination) in Seoul Gangnam-gap, a conservative stronghold.
The Future United Party's Nomination Management Committee announced some nomination results for Seoul and Gyeonggi areas on the 27th, including former Ambassador Tae.
Along with former Ambassador Tae, former Macquarie Investment Trust CEO Choi Hong received a strategic nomination for Gangnam-eul. In addition, in Seoul, Jeong Tae-geun (Seongbuk-gu Eul), Son Young-taek (Yangcheon-gu Eul), Gu Sang-chan (Gangseo-gu Gap), Park Yong-chan (Yeongdeungpo-gu Eul), and Kim Geun-sik (Songpa-gu Byeong) were recommended as single candidates.
In Gyeonggi, Kim Yong-nam (Suwon Byeong), Kim Min-su (Seongnam Bundang-eul), Lee Eum-jae (Bucheon Wonmi Gap), Ahn Byung-do (Bucheon Ojeong), Park Joo-won (Ansan Sangnok Gap), Ham Kyung-woo (Goyang-eul), and Kim Hyun-ah (Goyang Jeong) were recommended as single candidates.
The Nomination Committee also finalized the primary elections in Seoul. Yongsan, which attracted the most applicants, will hold a three-way primary among Kwon Young-se, Jo Sang-gyu, and Hwang Chun-ja. Additionally, primaries were set for Nowon-gu Gap (Lee No-geun, Hyun Kyung-byeong), Eunpyeong-gu Gap (Hong In-jeong, Shin Seong-seop), and Seodaemun-gu Gap (Lee Seong-heon, Yeo Myeong-suk).
