Gwangyang City Temporarily Closes Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest to Prevent COVID-19

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Gwangyang City is making every effort to prevent the spread.

The Gwangyang City Recreation Forest Office in Jeollanam-do announced that Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest will be closed from the 27th of this month until the 10th of next month to prevent and contain COVID-19.

With the COVID-19 crisis alert raised to the 'Severe' level and infections spreading nationwide centered in some areas, the Recreation Forest Office decided to temporarily close Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest.

All facilities within the recreation forest, as well as programs such as forest healing and woodcraft experiences, will be suspended until the 10th of next month. The office plans to review and announce whether normal operations will resume depending on the trend of infection spread.

Additionally, individual phone notifications will be made to those who have existing reservations, and full refunds will be processed sequentially.

Park Hyunsoo, head of the Recreation Forest Office, said, "The temporary closure of Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest is an unavoidable measure to block the spread of COVID-19 and ensure citizens' safety, so we ask for the understanding and cooperation of users."
