Inspection of COVID-19 Prevention Measures at Academies and Private Institutes in Gyeongnam Region


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 27th that it has launched a joint inspection to check compliance with infectious disease prevention rules targeting academies and private institutes that are closed due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).


The joint inspection team, formed by the Gyeongnam Office of Education and Changwon Education Support Office, is inspecting closed private institutes located in Seongsan-gu and Masanhwoewon-gu, Changwon, checking whether infectious disease prevention education is conducted, prevention rules are posted, quarantine supplies are stocked, temperature checks are performed, and facilities are disinfected.


This joint inspection is planned to be conducted on 105 academies and private institutes in the Gyeongnam area until March.


Shin Gi-seok, Director of Lifelong Education and Meal Service at the Gyeongnam Office of Education, urged, "As parents have many concerns due to the spread of COVID-19, academies and private institutes should do their best in facility disinfection and cooperate with the education office's recommendation to close to prevent the spread of infectious diseases."
